Bruna did her bachelors in Global Sustainable Development and Sociology at the University of Warwick, where she focused on the social and cultural pillars of sustainable development. She has a special interest in how culture influences environmental well-being and food systems. During her studies she actively participated in Warwick Africa Summit, an annual student-led interdisciplinary conference focused on the development of the African continent.
Bruna’s dedication to the field began through her relation to São Tomé & Príncipe, a vibrant hub of biodiversity in the Gulf of Africa.
Before joining Synchronicity Earth, she volunteered as a Community Engagement and Research Officer on the Island of Príncipe to learn the ways of life and needs of a local community to inform a sustainable housing Project. As she begins her journey in this field, she aspires to become a known expert in the field of biocultural diversity and food sovereignty.
Her hobbies include crocheting, nature walks and swimming in open waters.
