The Abu Dhabi Freshwater Roundtable Report

During the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi, October 2025, funders and practitioners convened a roundtable to discuss the obstacles limiting funding for freshwater biodiversity and ecosystems, explore opportunities for greater impact, and identify solutions to improve access, equity, and outcomes.
In order to address the critical and urgent freshwater funding gap, this report shares the main reflections and recommendations which emerged from the discussion.
