The CASA Socio-Environmental Fund supports grassroots initiatives in South America, promoting conservation, social justice, and sustainability through funding and capacity-building. 

At A Glance

Founded in 2005 and based in Brazil, the CASA Socio-Environmental Fund supports grassroots initiatives across South America to promote environmental conservation, social justice, and sustainability. It provides financial aid and capacity-building to local communities, empowering them to lead socio-environmental projects in both urban and rural areas. 

Fundo CASA has funded over 3,160 initiatives, distributing more than US$19 million in grants. In 2024 alone, R$28.6 million was allocated to over 500 projects focused on climate resilience, gender equity, biodiversity conservation, and human rights.

The fund collaborates with key partners such as the Global Greengrants Fund, Both ENDS, Oak Foundation, and the CAIXA Socio-Environmental Fund to expand its impact. It also co-founded the Comuá Network, mobilising resources to support grassroots organisations advancing socio-environmental justice. 

Through strategic funding and partnerships, CASA continues to empower communities and drive positive environmental and social change across South America.
