On June 30, 2010 Synchronicity Earth held its first event. ‘The World in 2050’ at the Whitechapel Gallery in London was a fascinating evening.
Expert speakers opened providing illuminating views about terrestrial and marine biodiversity trends leading up to 2050, and then examined the implications for humanity. We also brought in a diverse panel from the health, education, energy, military and financial sectors to share their views on what is being done by government, industry, scientific and community leaders to prepare us for this future world.
Finally, guests and experts came together to engage in discussion over a “2050 meal” inspired by ingredients that will likely be the foundation of everyday diets in 40 years’ time; a very different dinner than one would expect on this kind of occasion.
It was a thought-provoking night, which left guests and experts alike very engaged, and very inspired to learn more.
