Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organisation that acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace. It began campaigning against environmental degradation in 1971 and is now present in 40 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa and the Pacific.

Synchronicity Earth gave a grant to Greenpeace to help build the capacity of their innovative and high-impact campaign to protect Indonesia’s rainforests and peatlands. Greenpeace are also continuously working with the finance community to expose risks around investments in palm oil and pulp and paper; supporting communities directly affected by deforestation; and pushing for a transparent, accountable and effective system to prevent forest and peatland being converted into plantations in Indonesia.

Greenpeace is also a member of the High Seas Alliance and the Deep Sea Conservation Coalition, and plays an active role in both groups through high level interventions and campaigns.
