Conservation Vietnam
Conservation Vietnam became the first NGO in the wildlife conservation sector to oversee conservation donations from individuals and private sector contributors. The foundation provides grants through its endowment fund, empowering local organisations to carry out impactful conservation projects.
The foundation recognises the increasing pressures of urbanisation and economic development in Vietnam, particularly in the Central Highlands. As this region has become a hub for raw material exports, such as rubber and coffee, it faces significant threats from deforestation and forest degradation.

Some of the Vietnamese conservation organisations which have received support from Conservation Vietnam include:
- GreenViet, a fellow partner in our Asian Species Programme, specialising in forest and marine ecosystems and threatened species in Son Tra peninsula, Danang City;
- VietNature, an organisation working across Vietnam in nature conservation and restoration; sustainable management; and responses to climate change;
- WildAct, another Synchronicity Earth partner which is providing conservation education to motivate and engage local people in protecting threatened species from illegal trade and consumption; and
- Save Vietnam’s Wildlife, a long-term Asian Species partner protecting and increasing populations of threatened species through rescue, rehabilitation and release, as well as law enforcement, research and education.
A key focus of Conservation Vietnam is strengthening organisations, which often struggle to secure funding as Vietnam transitions to a wealthier nation. The foundation not only provides financial resources but also offers training to enhance organisational efficiency. By fostering sustainable funding models and building capacity, Conservation Vietnam ensures that organisations can effectively combat environmental threats and safeguard Vietnam’s unique biodiversity for future generations.
