Sumi is a Chartered Accountant with business strategy and human resources as her areas of expertise. She started her finance career with consultancy firm, AF Ferguson, covering external and internal audits. Thereafter, she worked with Standard Chartered Bank as their Relationship Manager, covering corporate and institutional finance and debt structuring across markets in India, UK, and Europe. Sumi joined the Finance and Risk team at Synchronicity Earth in 2023 and is involved with financial management accounting as well as conducting due diligence and organisational health assessments for its partners. It was her passion for wine which first piqued her interest in the environment sector. Her works with wine producers on biodiversity, permaculture, and sustainability projects have been recognised through her contributions for trade publications. Sumi’s involvement in the wine industry has included services in consultancy, journalism, education, marketing campaigns, and radio show production. She also served as Honorary Treasurer for the not-for-profit, Circle of Wine Writers. In her spare time, she explores nature through trail runs, hikes, and marathons whilst raising funds for autism and cancer research charities. As a long term pilates and yoga practitioner, she has volunteered as a Mental Health Ambassador for ParkRun.
