Asia Young Indigenous Peoples Network (AYIPN)

Asia Young Indigenous Peoples Network (AYIPN) brings together Indigenous youth organisations across Asia to promote and facilitate Indigenous rights through capacity building, leadership training, and implementing systems of cultural exchange amongst youth in Asia.

AYIPN is a network of Indigenous Youth organisations across Asia advocating for the rights of Indigenous Youth to self-determination, education, and livelihoods.

To achieve this, AYIPN focuses on:

  • Providing platforms, venues, and spaces to partake in national and local governance.
  • Facilitating communication and cultural exchange across connected organisations and its members.
  • Developing training to mobilise and educate the Indigenous Youth movement towards self-determination

AYIPN's ongoing campaign 'Indigenous Lands in Indigenous Hands' calls for Indigenous communities to have greater autonomy over the sustainable management of their ancestral territories.

In December 2024, AYIPN held their Regional Rights Camp, which brought together 11 Indigenous youth leaders from across Asia to discuss priorities on the following: environmental protection, advocacy for land rights, and youth capacity-building, highlighting the need for better regional coordination, regular engagement opportunities, and enhanced fundraising efforts.

By mobilising and connecting Indigenous youth across Asia to governmental bodies and spaces, AYIPN reinforces stewardship, self-determination, and the protection of diverse ecosystems and species.
