Off the back of the launch of the Global Ocean Commission, we took the conversation deeper with Oxford Professor Alex Rogers and Kristina Gjerde, from the IUCN.
On June 7, 2011, Synchronicity Earth held a lunch for women from many different vocational backgrounds and one common thread: an interest for conservation and environmental issues. Our ‘Home Eco-logics’ lunch at the Louise Blouin Foundation featured a Slow Food menu created and cooked by top British chef Angela Hartnett, showcasing locally sourced UK food and produce that runs the risk of being lost due to commercial pressures.
Our first salon highlighting the conservation challenges for women in developing countries as they fight against the daily threats of climate change. In collaboration with the IUCN and Alison Sudol.
We supported the creation of Project Ocean, a week long campaign, bringing London based NGOs, focused on ocean conservation, alongside MPs and Royalty, to Oxford Street ahead of World Ocean’s Day.
We hosted a roundtable discussion for NGOs aimed at identifying priorities and shared goals in tackling palm oil at ZSL London Zoo.
We hosted a screening of this powerful documentary, with investigative journalist Charles Clover and Professor Alex Rogers, preeminent ocean world expert and one of our scientific advisers.
Synchronicity Earth’s first event took place at he Whitechapel Art Gallery. Expert speakers gave their views on the state of the world’s terrestrial and marine ecosystems and a panel drawn from across a range of sectors discussed their views on what needs to be done to protect our planet into the future.
